The Mistletoe Legend

In ancient Norse mythology, Baldur, the god of day, was shot down by his mortal enemy, Loki, with a Mistletoe tipped arrow. As his mother, the goddess Frigga, tears fell on the mistletoe, the mistletoe’s red fruits turns to white, and revived Balder. Frigga then reversed mistletoe's bad reputation, and kissed everyone who walked underneath it out of gratitude for getting her son back.
